Abstract: The education of Southwest Associated University can be described as "the spirit of independence and the thought of
freedom"，which sets a model for modern education. The classroom full of essence is the spiritual mineral left by Southwest
Associated University and the key to open its educational spirit. Through the study of the existing teaching materials of the
University，it is found that there are different educational spirit in teaching. First of all，Zheng Tianting，Wen Yiduo，Pu Jiangqing，
Qian Mu，etc. who had gone through the long journey to the south，displayed the spirit of patriotism and loving for the people with
dedication to public interests and acquisition of all-round capability in their handouts；Secondly，it reflected the world vision of
education and formed the inclusive spirit of education through the confluence of Western learning and Chinese learning；Finally，on
the basis of inheriting Chinese traditional culture，continuing the motto of Tsinghua University and the Nankai school-running spirit，
the teachers of the University focused on a resolute educational spirit and the inheritance Chinese traditional culture. The educational
spirit presented in the handouts the University is a part of its educational spirit，which together constitute its spiritual heritage，and
can provide a paradigm for the connotation development，curriculum ideological and political education，and the compilation of
handouts of the current "world-class university".
